Alex Scott is an associate professor of supply chain management and the Gerald T. Niedert Professor in the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He has spent twenty years working in and researching the U.S. trucking industry. He is the founder and creator of the Fleet Sustainability Index™, which is a tool that provides objective, data-driven insights into the sustainability profiles of hundreds of thousands of trucking companies. Prior to joining academia, Scott worked for a decade in transportation and logistics, including with a large transportation company, a large third-party logistics provider and an international consulting firm. Alex regularly presents at national conferences, publishes in academic journals, and serves as an expert witness.
