Herman began his career in supply chain, in Canada, during the early 1980’s. Since then, he has held a variety of positions in both Canada and the USA, including President of both an international and a domestic 3 rd party logistics provider, COO of an asset-based trucking company, Divisional President of a global foodservice distributor, and CEO of a supply chain services company.

Herman retired in 2021 after the successful sale of that business.
Today, Herman acts as an advisor to a number of entities, and continues to be active in the rail industry through his role as President for the Private Railcar Food and Beverage Shippers Association. PRFBA is an industry trade group that was formed in 2016 as a platform for food and beverage companies with private rail assets, to network and have their concerns heard by the Railroads and by Washington DC.
Born and raised in Canada, Herman became a US citizen 2012 and currently lives in Hilton Head, South Carolina. He has two adult children, John and Sam, who both serve in the United States Coast Guard.
