Mark Ford is currently Chief Operating Officer, Carrier Sales for BlueGrace Logistics, a hypergrowth, third-party logistics provider (3PL) headquartered in Tampa, Florida. With over 20 years of experience, he oversees the building out of a centralized carrier sales fulfillment arm that supports multiple sales channels in this key role.
He joined the BlueGrace team in early 2017 with a sharp vision and goal to build something big. He was attracted to the willingness BlueGrace had to invest in its people and the technology needed to accomplish that goal. He has since helped develop BlueGrace’s custom carrier file, which provides a platform that stores years’ worth of both internal and external data and streamlines the carrier search process to help identify and select the best truck. This helps employees proactively identify opportunities to alleviate costs and optimize their customers’ supply chains.
Prior to BlueGrace, he worked in numerous leadership positions throughout his career at American Backhaulers, C.H. Robinson, Coyote Logistics and Reliance Partners. He was the first person hired to run the brokerage at Coyote Logistics and oversaw revenue from $0 to over $2.1 billion in less than 9 years. In that time, he also managed a carrier sales team of over 750 employees.
For his education, Mark received his MS in Supply Chain Management from Michigan State University and continued to be a guest teacher and speaker for the University for 6+ years.
Mark specializes in building out relationship-centric, regional capacity teams to execute on the commitments set forth to our customers. Most recently, he is leading BlueGrace’s new sales office in Chattanooga, TN where he will continue to build out a service that complements our LTL offering, and he plans to get involved with mentoring within the Chattanooga community.
