Mark Zastrow is a Senior Editor at Astronomy. He has master’s degrees in astronomy and science journalism from Boston University, where he researched topics including exoplanets, Jupiter’s aurorae, and the icy plume of Saturn’s moon Enceladus. After transitioning into journalism in 2013, he covered science and Korean politics as a freelancer based in Seoul, writing for Nature, New Scientist, and other outlets. He is also a former co-editor of Back of the Envelope, the science section of the literary magazine The Offing.
