Rak-Joon Choi is VP of Blockchain for Torqata, an American Tire Distributors (ATD) intelligence company. Rak’s mission is to build a blockchain platform that can power rich analytics and use cases that will address the inefficiencies of the tire distribution industry.
Prior to joining ATD/Torqata, Rak held various positions at IBM, where he spent the last four years focused on building blockchain-based supply chain solutions for Fortune 500 companies, launching numerous production networks in the process. Other roles he held include product management, strategy, corporate finance, M&A, and was a special consultant to the Chairperson’s transformation agenda that transformed IBM into a leading digital company. Rak-Joon has also worked for renowned consulting firms Accenture and BCG and brings a client success mindset to every engagement.
Rak-Joon has an MBA from New York University Stern School of Business, and has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Yonsei University of Seoul, South Korea.
Rak-Joon is an avid fan of history, culture, and nature and often visits museums and zoos with his infant daughter to relax. He is a strong advocate for Asian Americans and 3rd culture children in the workplace.
