Rik Arends is the Program Director at Smart Freight Centre, the global NGO dedicated to reduce logistics GHG emissions; we set the standard for calculating and reporting GHG emissions from logistics and provide the directions for how to take action and reduce logistics GHG emissions. In his capacity as Program Director, Rik leads the development of several programs, including our Low Emission Fuels and Vehicles program, our Data Access and Exchange program and the new End-to-End Guidance, working with multinational corporations and associations to decarbonize logistics. Rik is trained as a civil engineer and has 10+ years of experience in sustainable transport in Europe and the Global South.
