David brings a broad cross-section of mobility and industrial experience to Autotech working both in and with start-up companies to create business strategies that rapidly commercialize new technology and business models.
David joined Autotech from Ricardo where he was President of the software division. Ricardo is a global, multi-industry engineering company advancing technology, product innovation and strategy. Prior to Ricardo, David has held leadership roles in several start-up organizations in areas of distributed generation, energy storage, high-efficiency electric motors, and hybrid vehicles taking these companies through commercial transformation to exit.
David holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine where he also continued with his postgraduate research specializing in power electronics and controls. He enjoys supporting STEM education, coaching venture start-up teams, spending time with family, traveling, and exploring different cultures.
Previously, Dr. McShane served on the board of Wellington Drive as CEO and on the board of Ricardo. David also served in board advisory roles to Tour Engines and Antenum.
