Gregory Grimes is one of the owners and managing partners of West Central Motor Freight, Inc., one of America’s oldest transportation brokerage firms. With over a decade of experience in freight sales, brokerage and transportation management, Grimes is a veteran leader for the industry.
Gregory began his transportation career at Prime, Inc in 2012, working as a freight broker for several top 100 food shipping companies. He quickly accelerated to regional management in 2014. Under his leadership, the brokerage group was able to onboard multiple new shippers and create several new relationship and revenue opportunities. Using a Relationship and Service Based approach, Grimes was able to change a culture and create long lasting friendships that are still in place to this day.
In 2018 Grimes transitioned to West Central Motor Freight, Inc. and assumed ownership and partner responsibilities. With a 40+ year foundation to build on, Gregory saw an exciting opportunity to blend the service of old with the technology of new. Since 2018, West Central Motor Freight, Inc has seen double digit growth year over year, growth in employee satisfaction, growth in total number of employees, and most importantly continuing to cultivate a work environment that is honest, exciting, and fun.
Prior to working in logistics, Grimes held numerous leadership positions with Fortune 500 companies in sales, management and operations.
Gregory holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Advertising from Missouri State University and he currently resides in Springfield, MO.
