Jared Wallace boasts over 25 years of leadership experience, with more than a decade dedicated to spearheading software development initiatives within the liquid food grade transportation sector. His journey at Liquid Freight (Hagen Johnson Group) began as a broker, but he swiftly ascended to lead the brokerage operation. In this expanded role, he also oversaw all significant technological endeavors for Hagen Johnson and its affiliated trucking companies and tank wash. This included the implementation of the TMW Operations TMS platform and, subsequently, the in-house design and build of a Transportation and Load Management system, which successfully reduced operational costs and boosted efficiencies.
In 2020, Jared, alongside Hagen Johnson’s CEO Brandon Johnson, identified a critical need for enhanced traceability of liquid food grade tankers. This realization sparked the concept that would eventually evolve into Vessey. To transform this idea into reality, Jared secured grant funding from the USDA’s Small Business Innovation Research program in the spring of 2021 and supervised the prototyping of Vessey. After four years of managing Vessey as a side project within Hagen Johnson, it became an independent company in the fall of 2024. Jared, now Vessey’s Vice President of Operations, continues to play a pivotal role in shaping Vessey as the premier solution for digital traceability, food safety compliance, and data analytics within the liquid food grade industry.
