Jeffrey Godwin is a respected leader and long-time advocate for the towing and recovery industry, known for his service, innovation, and deep commitment to supporting towing professionals and their families. He has served as 1st Vice President of the International Towing and Recovery Hall of Fame and Museum (ITRHFM) since 2017, where he has helped guide strategic initiatives, strengthen organizational impact, and advance the mission of honoring and supporting the industry.
Jeffrey has co-chaired the ITRHFM Survivor Fund Committee since 2005, during which the program has significantly expanded its ability to assist families of fallen towing operators. He also serves as chairman of the Wall of the Fallen Committee, helping ensure the profession’s heroes are honored with dignity and lasting recognition.
From 2011 to 2021, Jeffrey served on the Board of the Towing and Recovery Association of America (TRAA), including on the Executive Board, and has been active in the TRAA LAN since 2016. Across these roles, he has championed collaboration, strengthened national advocacy, and worked to elevate professional standards across the industry.
An entrepreneur and technology innovator, Jeffrey co-founded FTI Groups Inc., the parent company of towPartners, a pioneering resource and purchasing program that has saved towing companies more than $50 million while supporting state towing associations nationwide. He also contributed to the industry’s first digital dispatching efforts, helping modernize operational practices and improve service efficiency.
Jeffrey’s sustained impact has been recognized through multiple honors, including two TRAA Presidential Awards (2008, 2015), the ITRHFM Presidential Award, and his 2024 induction to the International Towing & Recovery Hall of Fame.
Through his leadership, innovation, and enduring dedication to the people of the towing and recovery community, Jeffrey Godwin continues to make a meaningful and lasting difference across the industry. Jeffrey currently works for Cox Automotive / FleetNet America and he resides in Longview, Texas.
