Jonathan Salama is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Transfix. With Co-Founder and President, Drew McElroy, Salama launched the Transfix digital freight brokerage, powered by the Transfix Intelligent Freight Platform™ in 2013.
In June 2024, Transfix divested its brokerage operations and pivoted its core business to solely focus on turning a decade of expertise, innovation, and a deep understanding of the logistics into powerful software and data solutions for other brokers, shippers, and carriers. Transfix's
new expansive SaaS feature suite and data models, powered by AI and automation, are designed to decrease time and costs, and to drive a more profitable trucking ecosystem for all.
Prior to launching Transfix, Salama was an early addition to the core engineering team at Gilt Groupe, where he transitioned to a dynamic leadership role. At Gilt, he oversaw a team of engineers and personally built the backend architecture, which powered the company’s software solutions. Salama also held the position of lead software engineer at Cherry, an on-demand car wash startup that was later acquired by Lyft.
Salama earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Miami (FL). He currently resides in Jersey City, NJ with his wife, two daughters, and his mini goldendoodle.
