Over the last 36 years, Rick has held a variety of leadership positions in finance, strategy, operations, sales and marketing in the auto, publishing, mobile phone and logistics industries.
Rick is a graduate of THE Ohio State University in 1989, with an MBA from Ball State University in 1993.
In 2005, Rick was named to the Forty Under 40 list by the Indianapolis Business Journal for his accomplishments in the logistics industry.
Rick is a frequent contributor to industry publications and the financial community where he provides insight and analysis on the state of domestic intermodal and trucking market. Rick is also a frequent contributor to the weekly education and industry blogs and podcasts published by InTek Logistics, a company he owns and founded in 2003.
Rick is a big believer of giving back to the industry and the community and is involved with St Mary’s Early Childhood Development Centers, Indy Humane Society, World Central Kitchen and has served on both the Supply Chain and MBA Advisory Boards for Ball State University and now THE Ohio State Fisher School of Business Alumni Board.
In 2016, Rick and his longtime business partner of 25 years, Shelli Austin, had the opportunity to purchase the business they started in 2003 and transform it into what is InTek today.
InTek is a North American focused non-asset logistics company offering a variety of supply chain solutions and technology to shippers, with its primary focus being domestic intermodal shipping and managed transportation solutions.
A few short years after the acquisition, through the efforts of the entire team, InTek has been recognized both locally and nationally in growth and work-life balance:
