
Sarah Abernethy is the Director of Marketing Communications at Kenworth Truck Company, where she leads brand strategy, external communications, and marketing initiatives for one of the most respected truck manufacturers in North America. She brings a unique blend of business strategy, technical expertise, and storytelling to the role.
Sarah joined Kenworth over four years ago, beginning on the Greenhouse Gas team before moving into Product Marketing as Vocational Marketing Manager and later Advanced Powertrain Marketing Manager. In these roles, she helped shape Kenworth’s approach to vocational trucking, battery-electric vehicles, and emerging powertrain technologies.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University. Before entering the trucking industry, she worked in international tax consulting with PwC, giving her a strong analytical foundation and global business perspective.
Today, Sarah plays a key role in communicating Kenworth’s legacy of innovation, its driver-first design philosophy, and its leadership in next-generation powertrain and safety technology.
